There are many things to consider when planning life care for disabled or elderly individuals. Students can expect to discuss a variety of disabilities including developmental disabilities, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, brachial plexus palsy and cerebral palsy. Further, other issues relating to the elderly will be discussed during this course. Child and young adult disabilities will also be addressed.

Students will review patient transition and rehabilitation plans. The life care process has become a major factor in the management of the elderly. Students will learn how to assess the resources that may be available in a given situation. Students will also review other educational tools that will help families be supportive of their elderly member.
