This prelicensure, nursing career ladder educational program will culminate in an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. Those who complete the program will be qualified for the NCLEX exam to become registered nurses. This ladder program was created with the student’s best interests in mind. This program combines online coursework in general education with facility-based clinical practicum experience. Students must participate in both components in order to graduate.
By the end of this program, students will apply the nursing process to restorative, rehabilitative, preventative and palliative care delivery and apply core knowledge and clinical competencies and ethical behaviors in the delivery of nursing care to individuals and groups across the life span.
Graduates will also use team and leadership skills to provide direct patient care. Successful students will serve as a member of the nursing profession while applying evidence-based care in clinical practice and utilizing health care technologies in the delivery of nursing care.
Students will be able to explain the importance of ethical and legal considerations in the clinical practice of nursing and apply communication and problem-solving strategies for nursing in a global environment.
Graduates will also know how to describe the role of nurses in the improvement of the health care delivery system and formulation of health policy while they analyze their own professional growth and progress toward the achievement of self-initiated goals.
